Types of articles:
Contributions should be specified as regular papers, reviews, or letters which are shorter than regular papers and require rapid publication.

Language:
All articles must be written in clear, concise English. Papers will be published in English. An author's manuscript must be consistent in style, spelling and syntax. If the quality of the English of your manuscript does not satisfy journal standards, our English language service will polish your manuscript before the reviewing process. This service will cost 15,000 Japanese Yen, which will be charged with the reprint fee.

Manuscripts:
Papers submitted to this journal must not have been previously published or be currently under consideration for publication elsewhere. Manuscripts must be typewritten (double spaced) on 8.5 x 11 inch or A4 white sheets. Only one side of each sheet should be used and the text should be surrounded by a 4 cm margin (approximately). The manuscript must be submitted as an e-mail attachment, however, we request that authors post at least one hard copy. Manuscripts should be submitted to:

Title page:
The first page should be arranged in the following manner: title, name of author(s), academic and professional affiliation of the author(s) as well as one address for correspondence.

Text:
The text should have the following structure: Abstract, Key words, Introduction, Materials and methods, Results, Discussion, Acknowledgment, References, Figure and Table legends. When figures are cited in the text, please repeat the figure number for each lettered figure; e.g., Figs. 7(a) and 7(b). Please use the abbreviation "eq. " for equations; e.g., eq. (1); eqs. (2) and (3).

Tables, figures, and legends:
Tables, figures, and legends should be attached separately. Each table should be numbered (arabic) and have a short title written above it. Illusrations and figures may be printed in color if the author prefers. In this case, the author shall have to bear the extra costs involved (80,000 Japanese Yen per page). For further information regarding color printing, please contact the publisher.

References:
References should be consecutively numbered in the text and should be listed by number on a separate sheet. In the text, each reference should be denoted by the corresponding list number as a superscript. Use the following examples: 1 for a journal, 2 for a paper in a contributed volume, 3 for a book, and 4 for proceedings.

Upon acceptance of manuscript for publication, the author(s) will be obliged to purchase at least 100 copies (as of 2009, 100 reprints will be 76,650 Japanese Yen without postage fee for 8 pages in Sensors and Materials format). There is a minimum order requirement of 100.
